Forget the Range Rover. The new Lynk & Co 900 not only offers prestige, but also LED animations on the bumper, 6K screens in all rows of seats and seats that literally turn around - literally.

What do you get when you combine Swedish design, Chinese technology and completely free imagination? A vehicle that transforms into a living room inside, a camping kitchen in the trunk and a comfortable capsule of the future while driving. This is the Lynk & Co 900 – a prestigious SUV that is not afraid of anything or anyone.

The new generation Lynk & Co 900 SUV

The Lynk & Co 900 is the latest model from the brand, which falls under the umbrella of the Chinese giant Geely and thus shares its DNA with Volvo and Zeekro. It is no longer an experiment or a rendering, but a real six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV that competes in size with big names like the Range Rover - and in many ways even surpasses them. The car was developed on Volvo's prestigious SPA platform, but in an "evolutionary" version adapted for hybrid and electric drive. The exterior is a sophisticated mix of robustness and elegance, complemented by unique elements such as the LED screen on the front bumper with more than 10,000 dots, which displays animations and messages.

Under the hood lies advanced drive technology. Three different drivetrains are available. The basic one combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and two electric motors (front and rear) with a power of 530 kW (721 hp). The mid-range model offers a 2.0-liter engine with an additional electric motor at the front and 230 kW at the rear, which means a total power of 540 kW (735 hp) and as much as 1,038 Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line version, with three electric motors and a 2.0-liter engine, reaches 630 kW (860 hp) and over 1,200 Nm of torque. The fastest version accelerates to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

Powerful and electrified

The Lynk & Co 900 is a plug-in hybrid with a battery capacity of 43 or 50 kWh, which allows up to 280 km of electric range according to the CLTC standard. Charging is fast, as it allows 3C charging - from 20 to 80 % in just 17 minutes. The vehicle can operate in fully electric mode (front or rear), in combined hybrid mode (HEV), or in an emergency only on the internal combustion engine. In addition, the car is also ready for more extreme feats - the dual-chamber air suspension allows for adjustment of the chassis height by +/- 40 mm, and the rear steering up to 20° shortens the turning circle to just 5.3 meters.

The driving characteristics are surprisingly sporty for a vehicle of this size. The SPA platform ensures rigidity and balanced dynamics, while the Road Recognition System analyzes the surface 15 meters in advance and adjusts the suspension on the fly. Capabilities such as “crab walk” and “walt turn” allow for almost magical maneuvering in urban environments or off-road.

Lynk & Co 900 cabin as a prestigious salon

Inside, the Lynk & Co 900 is a total eye-catcher. The first thing you notice is the 30-inch 6K display that stretches across the entire dashboard. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8295 chip and offers features like separate driver and passenger viewing, a camping mode option, and incredible graphics speed. But that’s just the beginning.

There are two additional 30-inch 6K displays in the second row, each with split-screen functionality, gesture control and speakers in the headrests, so each passenger can listen to their own content. The 31-speaker, 2,640-watt Harman Kardon system offers a true concert experience inside the vehicle. The cabin is made of the finest materials – soft surfaces, leather, microfiber and felt everywhere, even in the drawers and door pockets.

The seats are heated, cooled and have a massage function – and not just in the front. The second and third rows also have massage functions (up to 16 points), and the third row even has its own USB-C ports, speakers and ambient lighting. The cabin also includes two panoramic glass sunroofs, a 9-liter refrigerator with a heater function (from -6°C to 50°C), turntables, electrically adjustable seats, 220V sockets and even the option to connect a projector for an outdoor movie night.

Revolution in the back: seats that turn

The real spectacle is in the back. The second row of seats can be rotated 180° to create a lounge area or social corner. It can also be turned 90° for easier entry or to install a child seat. Combined with the 300 kg folding rear bench and additional seats for fishing or picnicking, you get an SUV that can also be used for camping, work or entertainment.

Ready to drive independently

The Lynk & Co 900 offers up to Level 3 (H7) autonomous driving – that is, also in cities, not just on highways. The system enables automatic lane changes, turning, following exit roads and even driving “from parking lot to parking lot” without driver intervention. A LiDAR camera, radars and numerous cameras ensure precise detection of the surroundings. It is not known whether this technology will be included in export versions, but technically the vehicle is fully prepared for an autonomous future.

Conclusion: a new chapter in the world of luxury SUVs

The Lynk & Co 900 is one of the most impressive SUVs to come out of China – or any other country. It combines prestige, comfort, innovation and audacity that European competitors often don’t dare to show. If the base version starts at around RMB 350,000 (around €45,000), then it’s one of the biggest automotive “bargains” in the luxury segment.

Everything the Range Rover offers, the Lynk & Co 900 does better – and adds seats that swivel. Great!
