An Estonian photographer came across a very special discovery during one of his trips to distant lands. Antiquated projection equipment and hundreds of wooden chairs, resting serenely on a sunlit hillside in the middle of the vast Sinai desert. Is this a mirage or possibly a cinema "at the end of the world"?
As Kaupo Kikkas later researched, it is not an ancient find, but a a failed attempt by a French businessman, who saw an opportunity to set up outdoor cinema in the middle of the sandy embrace of Egypt.
He thus returned from Paris with original antique equipment from a movie theater. He also provided a generator for electricity and a giant screen, and everything was ready for the premiere. But what the impulsive businessman forgot was that the land of Egypt has its own requirements, as do its inhabitants, who "crazy idea of a bold European" she wasn't exactly happy. So on the day of the premiere, everything went wrong "accidentally". cinema "in the middle of nowhere" never really came to life.
Now sprinkled with desert dust, it rests as aged monument, waiting for a new opportunity, a new era.
