The new superyacht Maiora 42 Exuma is not just a luxury vessel, but a true renaissance of the lifestyle at sea. And what else would you expect when the interior is designed by Lebanese fashion guru Elie Saab?
Ah, superyachts. Those vessels that evoke a mixture of admiration, envy and existential questions in the ordinary mortal: "Where did I go wrong?" And yet a new lady has arrived on the scene, not only pushing boundaries, but also erasing them in a relaxed and elegant way - Majora 42 Exumas.
This one 42-meter (139 feet long) beauty developed by an Italian shipyard Majora (Next Yacht Group), openly mocks classic superyacht design concepts and promises a revolution comparable to the transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. (And no, this time we are not talking about Leonardo da Vinci on the water, but about a real floating art salon.)
“This is a paradigm shift, akin to the transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Spaces are no longer designed around boring logistical requirements, but for real living, enjoying and sharing moments,” says Next Yacht Group CEO, Sebastiano Fanizza. Simply put: we've dealt with tubes and machines long enough, now it's people's turn.
Four decks of pure happiness (and a little hedonism)
Maiora 42 Exuma expands its living space across four decksInstead of a traditional main salon, you'll find the heart of the yacht on the upper deck – a panoramic living area with fully glazed walls that can be opened from all sides. This means you're practically in the sun at all times. embrace the sea, without the sea salt ruining your hair. And aft, you'll find a spectacular glass-bottomed pool and bar, perfect for sipping champagne while watching the unsuspecting bathers below.
The front of the upper deck is equipped with a luxurious sun cushion that can be moved at the touch of a button to catch every second of the sun you want. (Because turning with a towel is really not fashionable anymore, right?)
A royal stay – in the truest sense of the word
The main deck is dedicated to the owner and guests, who can choose from four VIP suites and one stunning full-beam owner's suite. This one boasts its own private living room, bedroom, two dressing areas, private wet bar and separate bathrooms. Yes, two bathrooms – for when one is simply not enough.
Aft of the main deck is a large, two-story cockpit with extendable side terraces and a sunbathing area that also hides a generous supply of water toys. You know, you can't be a millionaire at sea without your own jet skis, kayaks and jet skis. That would almost be an insult.
What about the crew and services?
The lower deck, usually reserved for guests, is now dedicated to the crew and technical spaces. Here you will find a spacious crew dining room, five crew cabins, a laundry room, storage rooms and even a cold storage room. There is also a multi-purpose space on the lower deck that can be transformed into a gym, massage room, media room or even an additional cabin in a flash. Because, let's face it, every rich person needs some flexibility in case they get tired of the massage and want a movie.
And almost at the top 80 square meters sun terraces with a view of the endless sea. So there is plenty of space to enjoy. Really enough.
Fashion inspiration that warms the soul (and ego)
In addition to the bold architecture, the superyacht was designed with style – and not just any style. Elie Saab, the Lebanese master designer, has created an elegant interior full of prestigious materials such as marble, teak and bronze, all spiced up with furniture and accessories from the Elie Saab Maison collection. So, while cruising between Monaco and Sardinia, you will always be in the company of elegance, characterized by a high resistance of materials to the vagaries of the sea.
"With this superyacht we are carrying the brand Elie Saab "We are transforming the sea and our heritage of superior craftsmanship and sophisticated aesthetics into the ultimate in contemporary luxury," adds Elie Saab Jr., CEO of the Elie Saab Group.
Thunder under the hood (the yacht must also be fast!)
A top-class yacht must also have a bit of temperament below deck. Maiora 42 Exuma offers two engine options: a pair 2000-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS 40, which elegantly and almost silently take you to a speed of 20 knots and provide a range of 2100 nautical miles. Or a slightly more adrenaline-pumping option: a trio of 2600-horsepower MTU engines, which catapult you to a speed of 30 knots, with a cruising speed of 26 knots and a range of 1800 nautical miles. Which to choose is a matter of taste – or the amount of money in the bank account.
A wait worth every minute
The first superyacht Maiora 42 Exuma has already been sold to a lucky buyer whose identity is (as yet) unknown. Construction is in full swing, with delivery scheduled for the summer of 2027. If you're already thinking about building your own floating palace, you still have plenty of time to save up – or find a rich uncle from America.
Until then, we mere mortals will continue to be content with inflatable flamingos while the rich and famous explore new horizons of hedonism. You know, life isn't fair - especially when it comes to superyachts.
