Majestic Wine: instead of the content on the label, the feelings conjured up by the wine

French illustrator Jean Jullien has designed new labels for wines of the Majestic Wine brand, which, instead of the name, awards and type of wine, use pictorial images to describe the feelings conjured up by the wine. Jean Jullien Majestic Wine is a series of wines that are so beautiful that the bottles alone are worth buying.

Jean Jullien – Majestic Wine is a new project by French illustrator Jean Jullien in cooperation with the wine brand Majestic Wine. It is a series of bottles that are crowned instead of with contents and pretentious inscriptions with beautiful illustrations, which render feelings evoked by drinking a certain wine.

Jamie Patterson, marketing manager of Majestic Wine, argues for the decision to use labels without captions by saying that labels with illustrations are intended introducing fun and relaxation into the world of overly sophisticated and pretentious texts that otherwise accompany other wine bottles. The illustrations are accordingly spicy with a hint of sarcasm, which the artist Jean Jullien masters just as well as the drawing technique.
