Red Yacht Design is launching a new brand, Manari Yachts, with its first model, the Manari 52, a Mediterranean day boat with folding sides and a balcony alongside, and an IPS drive that promises up to 44.6 knots. In the 52-foot class, it bets on design, speed and rarity.

If 52-foot shoes once meant a comfortable "taxi" between islands, Manari 52 proves that today it is a floating living room with an “origami” button. The stern opens like a Swiss Army knife to reveal a balcony and a platform that literally drops you into the sea. This is not just a weekend toy, but a manifesto for the new Manari Yachts brand, which, together with Red Yacht Design, promises less tradition and more provocation. The result? A boat that does not want to be “another 52-foot model”, but one that even those who prefer to ride a scooter will talk about.

Key figures at a glance: Manari 52

  • Length (LOA): 15.85 m (52 feet)
  • Width (beam): 4.59 m (15 feet)
  • Draft: 1.33m (4.3 feet)
  • Displacement (dry): 14 tons (30,864 lbs)
  • Top speed: 44.6 knots (51.3 mph); the media mentions up to 47 knots
  • Drive: double Volvo Penta IPS (power – the information has not yet been officially published)
  • Fuel capacity: 2,500 liters (660 gallons)
  • Fresh water / black water: 200 l / 200 l (53 gal / 53 gal)
  • Most passengers: 12; CE category B

Powertrain and capabilities

Manari 52 is designed around a dual Volvo Penta IPSThis means better maneuverability in the marina (joystick), more efficient sailing and less vibration than with conventional shafts – a technology that Volvo Penta advertises as a step forward in comfort and fuel economy. The official specification states the maximum 44.6 knots, which puts it at the fast end of the class. Robb Report (via Yahoo) reports on 47 knots, so we are currently citing a range of 44.6–47 until the manufacturer confirms the final number for the production boat.

As a good joke on physics: IPS, with propellers that “pull” instead of “push,” works like a great waiter—it does the same job with fewer steps. In reality, this means more precise maneuvering and potentially lower fuel consumption when cruising, depending on the configuration.

Dimensions and spaces

At 15.85 m long and 4.59 m wide Manari 52 offers a clear division into an external "living" area and an elegant interior. At the bow is separate salon with lounge area, and on the stern large swimming platform and, the star of the show, side balcony: the side wall opens up, expanding the living area just above the water. This is that “origami” moment you’ll show off to your guests, like some people show off a secret pocket on a jacket.

They are inside salon, catering area, main cabin and spacious bathroom, with materials of the type Laura Piana and Italian wood. It's not a twelve-deck cruise ship, but it's surprisingly "boutique" in its touch and choice of fabrics.

Hull, architecture and engineering

The design bears a signature Red Yacht Design, for nautical architecture The body is Dutch. Mulder DesignThe project engineering was taken over by the studio Eureka Yachts. A combination of experienced names and GRP (composite) construction is a recipe for low weight (14 t dry) and sharpness in the waves.

Cabin, technology and safety

CE category B means that the vessel is suitable for coastal navigation in difficult conditions. IPS brings joystick control, typically also featuring the option of assist functions for landing and holding (depending on configuration). If the automotive analogy is ABS, the IPS joystick in the marina is something that makes the spectators on the pier put away their popcorn – simply less drama.

Competitive framework

There are two loud competitors in the 52-foot class Pardo GT52 and Absolute 52 FlyThe Pardo offers a similarly open floor plan and a platform for swimming, a real top but in tests it moves around 30–33 knots (with IPS 650–800). The Absolute 52 Fly with IPS‑800 (600 hp) achieves a typical 30 knots (sometimes up to 34 are quoted), but it is slower than Manari. In short: Manari 52 aims at more speed with a comparable level of comfort.

Model heritage

Manari Yachts is a fresh brand based in Miami Beach, with a strong reach in Europe and Asia. Philosophy? Limited editions, high craftsmanship, emphasis on social decks and uniqueness – that each boat is as individual as its owner. In this sense Manari 52 is not only the first model, but manifesto.

Conclusion: Manari 52

If most 52-footers today are “apartments on the water,” Manari 52 more loft on the water: open, sociable and with a few ingenious tricks – side balcony and a stern that literally opens into the sea. Add more IPS and range 44.6–47 knots and you get a recipe for a day that turns from a cruise into an event. Who is the buyer? Someone who wants superyacht feeling in a package that is easy to manage and that doesn't care about his boat being in the marina to look differentIn this class, it's hard to go faster and more "your way".
