Iron Man has an assistant Pepper Potts, a leader in global payments and technology MasterCard and a restaurant chain that sells more pizza, pasta and poultry than any other restaurant in the world, and Pizza Hut has Pepper, an advanced robot that interacts with customers, takes orders and enables mobile payments. Are the days of waiters numbered?

Robot Pepper introduces an innovative way of communication with customers that we have only seen in futuristic movies until now. The robot enables two-way communication; enables ordering food and drinks, providing the desired information and enabling payment. An individual contacts Pepper by saying hello and activating their MasterPass account. It does this by scanning QR codes, which Pepper gives him on the tablet, or he can do it through the app by pressing the Pepper icon. When an individual's MasterPass account is linked Wi-Fi connects with Pepper, who offers personalized information, advises on the selection and helps with the payment. Pepper can too initiates, confirms and completes the transaction process, as demonstrated in the promotional clip.

Pepper will take orders and provide information since the end of 2016. "Consumers expect personalized services, customized offers and at the same time a fluid and simple purchase process both online and in store," the robot 'justified' Tobias Puehse, Vice President of the MasterCard Lab. "By combining Pepper's intelligence with a secure payment system like MasterPass, we can offer consumers more memorable and personalized shopping experiences, which are much more than self-service machines.” Application was developed in Singapore's MasterCard Lab, one of MasterCard's eight scientific research centers.
