When was the last time a supercar was this practical?

Forget classic supercars that are better suited for a museum than for everyday errands. The McLaren GTS 2024 proves that superior performance and practicality can be combined. How? Imagine driving through narrow city streets, looking for a parking space among SUVs and vans, and then easily opening the power liftgate of your McLaren and stuffing all your purchases into it. Yes, it is possible with the new McLaren GTS!

McLaren, known for building supercars that get your heart racing faster than your morning cup of coffee, has outdone itself this time. With the 2024 McLaren GTS, they've created a car that not only looks like it flew straight from the future, but is also surprisingly useful for everyday tasks.

Let's start with the trunk, as this is always an interesting topic in supercars. The McLaren GTS 2024 offers 419 liters (14.8 cu ft) of space in the rear trunk and an additional 150 liters (5.3 cu ft) in the front trunk. The total luggage capacity is impressive 569 liters (20.1 cu ft). So if you've ever dreamed of a supercar you could use to shop at the supermarket, the McLaren GTS is the answer to your prayers.

But don't be fooled – despite its practicality, the GTS remains a true supercar. With a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that now produces 626 hp (that's an extra 14bhp compared to the previous model), the GTS delivers the power and speed we've come to expect from McLaren. With a weight reduction of 10 kilograms (22 pounds) to a total of 1,520 kilograms (3,351 pounds), this beauty is faster and more responsive than ever before.

McLaren used recycled carbon fiber for this model to create a new roof panel and rear upper structure, helping to reduce weight. Additionally, you can choose optional titanium nuts, which are 35 percent lighter than standard wheel bolts. Two different sets of rims are available, both with special Pirelli P Zero tires that further emphasize the car's sporty character.

And speaking of sportiness, the GTS goes from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) on its own 3.1 seconds, 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) v 8.9 seconds and has a top speed of 203 mph (326 km/h). All this thanks to 630 Newton-meters (465 pound-feet) of torque, which is transmitted to the road by a seven-speed sequential gearbox.

McLaren GTS 2024 is not only a supercar, it is also a great partner for your everyday life. Whether you're going for a quick drive down country roads or to pick up some freshly baked bread, the GTS doesn't disappoint. With all these improvements and additions, of course, the price is in line with what is on offer - but as they say, if you love quality, price should not be an obstacle. The McLaren GTS is therefore the right choice for those who want something more from a car - namely, a supercar that is also your best friend in everyday tasks. As Jeremy Clarkson would say, “Some cars are like chocolate, delicious but not practical. The McLaren GTS is like a pizza - great anywhere and anytime!
