At Renault, they hastened the development and at the first opportunity put the sportiest Megane to date on the famous runway - the Megane RS trophy-R, which will be produced in a limited series of 250 examples, which will be sold in 15 markets.
Renault's fingers were obviously very itchy after the record they were forced to hand over to VW this March, more precisely to the seat leon cupra 280. The French therefore rushed to develop an even more toxic and sportiest version of the Megane so far and put it on the famous runway.
On the outside, the R version of the Megane Trophy can be recognized by the two-tone bodywork, with the inscription of the version on the special sports bumper in the style of F1 racing cars. On the side, there is a special graphic painting that matches the color standard 19-inch rims, which can be dressed in black or flashy red.
The total weight savings compared to the classic Megane RS 275 trophy amounts to one hundred kilograms, of which 42 are due to special clamshell front seats manufactured from polycarbonate. Furthermore, 16 kilograms were also saved with a lighter lithium-ion battery, and three kilograms were also saved with a special lighter and more powerful brake system with discs with a diameter of 350 mm. The basic equipment includes three-point seat belts, which can be replaced for an additional fee six-point sports seat belts.
The price remains a secret for now, but it is known that they will produce only 250 copies of this model that will for sale in 15 countries, but the question is whether it is also with us. Considering the reputation that the Megane RS enjoys, we are sure that they will go very quickly.
