An incredible but true story reveals the creation of the "First Earth Battalion", a hitherto completely unknown chapter of American military history. Reporter Bob is looking for a subject for a new high-profile story and in the process encounters Cassady, a mysterious man who claims to be a member of the US Army's experimental unit. A troop called "Warrior Monks" with previously unknown telepathic abilities can and do read enemy minds, walk through solid walls and even kill a goat by simply staring at it.
