At the presentation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, there was talk of a so-called semi-hybrid engine, which, in addition to the in-line 6-cylinder, uses a small electric motor for additional acceleration and elimination of turbine lag. Driving with it is smoother and offers more power. This engine has now been strengthened and used in the AMG 53 models.
Treatment AMG 53 will receive models CLS, E coupe and E convertible. They used it in the AMG 53 series 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with a bigger turbo. Engine in CLS53 will have so 429 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque, of which the electric motor contributes 21 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. CLS53 needs from 0 to 100 km/h 4.5 seconds and has the highest speed 270 km/h. This is also the first time that Mercedes has offered an AMG option for both the E coupe and the E cabriolet. All AMG models use 53 9-speed gearbox with double clutch and four-wheel drive 4MATIC+. Due to greater economy, the drive is most of the time sent to the rear wheel pair.
Variations MG 53 will have a bunch of assistance systems that we have already seen in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, there will also be a choice different driving profiles. The front bumper has been changed, which is now even more sporty. At the rear, we can't miss the AMG and 53 badge, and the double round exhaust pipes are also impossible to miss. With the AMG 53 models, Mercedes provided an additional dose of adrenaline, which, in addition to comfort, can be experienced in cars with a silver star.
