The quantitatively most important model for the Mercedes-Benz brand has undergone a rejuvenation after three years. This focuses mainly on the dynamics of the front and the coherence of the rear part of the vehicle, and inside on a larger central screen and more advanced technology. In terms of price, it even surpasses its biggest competitor in the form of the BMW series 2 active tourer.
Class B in 2011 meant a brand shift Mercedes-Benz to more likeable and dynamic external images models with a triple star on the nose, a more modern and pleasing interior of the vehicle and a greater degree of sporty feelings while driving. At that time, the new B-class was quickly followed by other models, so that the brand made the right decision, and the sales figures soon began to show, and the brand's correspondingly higher profits.
Also for the first time, the AMG line package
After three years, they are the leaders at Daimler decided that it was time for the first cosmetic renovation, and they themselves say that this decision was also supported by the arrival on the market of one of the fiercest and new competitors on the market in the form of BMW 2 series active tourer.
You can recognize the new B on the outside by more dynamic front ones lights and masks engine that is very reminiscent of class C, as expected, there are fewer changes on the side. At the rear, the differences are even less numerous and noticeable, and at the rear, the taillights have received more modern graphics, and even more noticeable is the modified bumper, which for the sake of consistency has received integrated exhaust pipes, which are models with three-pointed star on the nose quite standard.
Accident prevention system as standard
The changes in the passenger cabin are also very subtle, and there are no measurable and noticeable differences compared to the predecessor in terms of dimensions and spaciousness. This mainly presents the novelty as an option larger integrated screen and what 12 colors of ambient lighting space, both of which are reserved for the more equipped versions of the four standard equipment packages: the basic no-name, style, urban and a sporty package for the first time in this model AMG line package.
The most novelties are in the area of assistance systems, where customers in B can think of a system for the first time traffic sign assist, which can in addition to speed limits also recognize traffic signs such as STOP and overtaking restrictions on AC. All versions are now equipped with radar as standard accident prevention system and collisions with pedestrians and cyclists.
The motor range consists of four engines on each side with the power of 66 to 155 kilowatts. The gearbox is basically a six-speed manual, but in the more powerful versions this is replaced by a seven-speed 7G-DCT automatic transmission. The most powerful engine versions on both poles also have the option of 4matic four-wheel drive, which, however, is the only drive option for the B220 version.
Compared to its predecessor, Class B is now approx 300 – 400 euros more expensive, but according to the importer, this difference is more than compensated by additional contents, and prices on this side of the Alps start at 23,450 euros on the petrol side (B180) and 23,800 euros on the diesel side (B 160 CDI). The surcharge for the pekt style ranges from 670 to 1,200 euros (depending on the engine version, and for the urban package from 945 to 1,688 euros. The most expensive AMG line requires an additional payment of just under three thousand to 3,631 euros.
