Mercedes-Benz unveiled its electric vision in Munich with the CLA-Class Concept. With a promise of 466 miles (750 km) of range and a stunning design, this car is ready to win the hearts of motoring enthusiasts.
When we talk about electric cars, we often think of compromises. However, with its new Concept CLA-Class model, Mercedes-Benz proves that an electric future does not mean giving up luxury or performance.
Mercedes-Benz, known for its heritage of innovation, has set a new milestone this time. Built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, the Concept CLA-Class boasts a sophisticated design, sustainable materials and a range of 466 miles (750 km) on the optimistic WLTP scale. While details on the powertrain and battery are still under wraps, it's clear that the CLA has taken inspiration from the Vision EQXX concept, particularly with its electric motors and stunning Superscreen infotainment system.
The aesthetics of the car are recognizable, but with a modern touch. The long hood and shorter rear section give the car a sporty look, which is further emphasized by the stunning "Pomegranate Red" color. A special feature is also the three-dimensional shining stars on the hood, which give the car a touch of prestige.
The interior of the car is a combination of luxury and durability. Innovative materials were used, such as Nappa leather treated with coffee husks and fabric made from recycled PET plastic. The Superscreen infotainment system, powered by the latest MB.OS, is a feast for the eyes.
The technical specifications promise advanced technology. Mercedes presents two different batteries: lithium-ion phosphate chemistry and silicon oxide anodes for higher energy density. The battery has a capacity of 89.6 kWh, which enables fast charging and an impressive range. The 800-volt electrical architecture enables fast charging with 250 kW, which means you can charge in 15 minutes for 248 miles (399 km) of range.
