For the third year in a row, one of the largest house events in northeastern Slovenia, called the Winter House Parade, will open the action in the Karnevalska dvorana in Ptuj during the traditional carnival. In the past two years, New York house diva Barbara Tucker and German DJ Tom Novy have performed as main guests.
This year, on Friday, February 25, 2011, Michael Gray, London-based DJ and world-class producer, author of the MTV hit The Weekend, will perform at the Carnival Hall!
Michael Gray is one of the most respected and talented artists on the global dance scene. He started his musical journey in 1995 as a member of the duo Full Intention together with his colleague Jon Pearn, with whom they produced and/or remixed for star names such as: Jeniffer Lopez, George Michael, Sugababes, Jamiroquai, Ultra Nate... In 2004, they were for the remix George Michael's song Amazing nominated for a Grammy Award.
However, Michael achieved world fame as a solo artist, precisely with the product The Weekend, which launched him overnight among the biggest DJs in the world. The piece landed on all the world music charts, including the 7th place in the British music chart and the 1st place in the Australian Aria club chart. Soon after, he released Borderline, which quickly became a new, big hit and climbed to the 12th place in the British music charts. Last year, the world's dance floors were blown up by the single Say Yes, which Michael created in collaboration with the British duo Danism and vocalist Lissa Millett and was released by the prestigious London label Defected.
Michael Gray will be accompanied on the stage of Karnevalska Dvorana by a currently very hot DJ duo Plastic Funk from Germany, which can be heard in all the best clubs from Miami, Ibiza and all the way to Tokyo, and the Slovenian duo Blue & Deep.
Tickets will be available in advance at a price of 12 euros from February 14 at the following locations in Ptuj: Don Caffe, TIC, Qlandia and Last Minute Center. On the day of the event, tickets for 15 EUR will also be available at the box office in front of the Carnival Hall from 5 p.m. onwards.
