It was September 1961 when Sir Alec Issigonis and John Cooper combined their knowledge and experience. The result was the Austin Mini Cooper and the Morris Mini Cooper.
In order to honor the venerable 60th anniversary of the creation of the legendary Mini and all the brand's achievements over the decades, the current Mini company decided on a special jubilee three-door version of the popular little one, which will be available in only 740 examples. Minis that will be part of the jubilee cars Mini Anniversary Edition, will wear green or black livery, and all will have side mirror caps, door handles, and rear and front light surrounds painted white.
Among other details, the special edition will be recognized by the white stripes on the hood, the longitudinal red stripe on the hood of the car and the number 74 at the door. The number 74 is a tribute to a bygone era and was worn by the classic Mini Cooper when it made its first successful debut on the competition circuit. Inside we can see the inscription Cooper, and on the driver's door the number of the limited series (1 of 740) and dedication ″60 years of Mini Cooper- The unexpected underdog″, or 60 years of Mini Cooper - an unexpected favorite. The limited edition Mini Anniversary Edition can only be ordered from three-door models Mini Cooper, Mini Cooper S and Mini John Cooper Works.
