Shingle House, a contemporary cottage, lies in a poetic landscape in England, on the Dungeness coast in Kent, near Romney Marsh. Dungeness is considered to be one of the largest gravel deposits in Europe, and it is also a protected natural area, extremely rich and picturesque with flora and fauna. The coast is dotted with fishing shacks, mostly owned by artists.

Young Scottish Bureau NORD (Northern Office for Research and Design) responded in architectural terms to the natural environment in which it stands modern weekendthe Shingle house. Two simple dark blocks, which are accompanied by a contrasting white, smaller building, can accommodate up to 8 people, who have a dining room and kitchen, a luxurious bathroom, and a living and sleeping area.
