The most adored people in the world

A survey conducted by the company every year YouGov, did not bring any big surprises at the top. It was conducted for the first time in 2015, and every year so far it has reached the same conclusion: the most adored are Bill Gates and Angelina Jolie. This is why there have been many shifts in the rankings.

The survey covered 37,000 people from 35 countries. The results revealed that women who are involved in acting, music and television are more valued by respondents, while politicians, businessmen and sportsmen are the most popular among men. We are sure that many of the names that made it to the list will surprise you. Where is Donald Trump?

In December 2017, YouGov asked people: "Which 5 people in the world do you admire the most?" Based on the answers, they later formed a list of 20 successful women and men whose names appeared the most. At the beginning of this year, the contractors then conducted the second part of the survey, as part of which respondents were offered the names of the finalists of the selection and two questions: "Who do you really admire?" and "Who do you admire the most?" According to the results, they recalculated a special share of admiration, which is expressed as a percentage next to the name of the celebrities.

The researchers obtained the data using the method online survey. At this point, it should be emphasized that the sample is not representative in some countries, as less than 60 % of the population have access to the Internet. Such countries are Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.

On the website YouGov you can check which people are most admired in each country that was the subject of the survey. Unfortunately, there is no Slovenia among these countries, but there are quite a few European ones.
