These days we received the first trailer for one of the most anticipated films of the coming year. We are talking about the sci-fi film Annihilation (2018), the second film of director and screenwriter Alex Garland, who impressed with his debut Ex Machina (2015).
The story will follow a biologist who is sent on a dangerous expedition where the laws of physics will not apply. Oscar winner Natalie Portman will play the role of the protagonist, and in addition to her, we will also be able to see Oscar Isaac in the film, who impressed in the aforementioned Ex Machina. According to the director, during the filming they looked to the Russian classics Solaris (1972) and Stalker (1979) and the works of the legendary Stanley Kubrick.
Otherwise, the film is an adaptation of the book proposal of the same name by the writer Jeff VanderMeer from 2014. The premiere is scheduled for February next year.
