Fences is the dramatic work of a playwright August Wilson, for which he received the Pulitzer Prize in 1987. He waved the director's baton over the film Fences Denzel Washington (among other things, he has already directed a film The Great Debaters), who once again got into the character of Troy Maxson, which he already played in the eponymous movie Broadway show. The same applies to Viola Davis and some other characters (Mykelti Williamson, Stephen McKinley, Henderson, Russell Hornsby).
