The Serbian film Pored mene (Srednješolci) critically examines today's youth, while at the same time looking for a way to a bright future for a generation that was born with smartphones. Swimming against the current is the young high school teacher Olja, who already has the upper hand of her students, who spend more time on their phones. A recording of her fight breaks the bottom of the barrel, so the history teacher takes extreme measures. He collects everyone's electronic toys, locks them in the school and leaves with an ultimatum. Yes, this is what survival in the "wilderness" looks like in the 21st century. No smartphone, no internet. Trapped with people.
High school students (Next to me) is Serbian drama Stevan Filipović, who deals with very current topics. Once upon a time, addictive movies like these were eye-openers Trainspotting and Mularia, and the modern version of these shows youth addiction to technological toys, which destroy lives even worse, as they are about to destroy entire generations. Young teacher Olja (Hristina Popović) is one of those modern Don Quixotes who wants screens not to become man's best friend, so the historian, who does not lack enthusiasm, resorts to alternative teaching methods.

One day because of controversial exhibitions her husband, the painter Uglješ (Dragan Mićanović), becomes a victim of young, low-income people, and when one day she discovers that one of her students is behind the attack, which the muleteers somehow filmed and uploaded to the Internet, her nerves subside. He picks up everyone's phones, locks them in the school, before threatening to go to the police if they don't report the culprit themselves. But the fact that they are locked is not the worst thing. They stayed at school no tech treats, no internet, and to solve it (watch this!) they have to start actually communicating with each other. And more than a punishment, it seems that the teacher actually threw the students lifejacket, even though they didn't even know they were drowning.
