Film The Girl on the Train (2016)

The film, based on the bestselling book Dekle na vlako, which can also be read in Slovenian and has captivated the world, is coming to the cinema screens soon. The psychological thriller by writer Paula Hawkins was published in January 2015, and the novel quickly occupied the tops of all the most important book charts. If its success is followed by a film adaptation with Emily Blunt and Justin Theroux at the helm, it will have to wait until October 2016.

A psychological thriller The girl on the train is based on the novel of the same name Paula Hawkins. The tense story was adapted for the movie screen by the production company DreamWorks, and transferred to celluloid format by the director Tate Taylor (Maids).

The film tells the story of a young alcoholic Rachel (Emily Blunt; Into the forests, Sneguljčica and Hunter 2), who observes during the daily commute to work by train young couple and she weaves an imaginary story around them, giving them names and life roles in her imagination, and the perfect story (which is the complete opposite of her ruined life) gets a surprising twist when she notices a third, uninvited person in the apartment. The woman disappears and Rachel sets out to solve the mysterious case on her own.
