The timeless story of Disney's animated classic The Little Mermaid will soon come to life in a feature version. But unlike Beauty and the Beast (and similar films of this kind), this one is surprisingly not being sent to the big screen by Disney, but by the production company Conglomerate Media and Kingsway Production (CMKP). Although Andersen's fairy tale The Little Mermaid (1837) we all associate Disney inextricably and timelessly cartoon from 1989 – this was after 30 years or Sleeping Beauty first Disney cartoon, which was based on a fairy tale - but Disney did not manage to keep the exclusive rights and other production companies were able to take a bite of the story.
