All fans of adventure and computer games will be in for a treat next year, as a new version of Tomb Raider is coming! At the beginning of the previous decade, Angelina Jolie shone in the role, but this time, Oscar winner Alicia Vikander will step into the shoes of Lara Croft.
Foreshadowed for a long time reboot movie Tomb Raider (2018) will be in the new adaptation much more in keeping with the vibe of the computer games, especially the latest ones that stripped Lara of most of her weapons and put her on a bow. Judging by the trailer, the story itself is also similar, as Lara finds herself on mysterious island which was supposed to be the final destination of her missing father.
The film was directed by a Norwegian director Roar Uthaug, who has so far proven himself in his domestic production, as his films include Wave (Bølgen, 2015) and Escape (Flukt, 2012). We will see next year whether he will be able to create a successful American action film as well.
