Trumbo is a biographical drama about one of the most talented screenwriters of the last 50 years, James Dalton Trumbo. The film was signed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers), born in Albuquerque, so it is only logical that he dedicated the character of the "controversial" screenwriter to Bryan Cranston, who lived in that place as Walter White in the cult series Crooked Path. In addition to the latter, the film also stars Diane Lane, Elle Fanning, Louis CK, Helen Mirren and John Goodman.
The biographical drama Trumbo will make its debut at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival, and will hit theaters around the world in early November. The film tells the story of the Oscar winner American screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who found himself blacklisted by the US government, i.e. to the list of actors who were suspected of having dubious political beliefs. It's a look at a time when power is with the Republican senator from Wisconsin Joseph McCarthy at the head between 1940 and 1950 conducted witch hunts and searched communist agents.
Because it is a dark period, when Trumbo, because of his alleged sympathy with communism, became persona non grata in Hollywood, the tongue-in-cheek tone of the trailer seems less of a surprise.

Among other things, Trumbo wrote the screenplay for Kubrick's cult film Spartacus, which was released in 1960, but it was the first film after his "excommunication" in 1947 that brought him back to the living. He was helped by two actors Kirk Douglas (Spartacus) and director Otto Preminger.
