The Louvre x HTC Vive Arts: The Mona Lisa as you've never seen it before

From October 24, HTC VIVE Arts and the Louvre Museum in Paris offer visitors an unforgettable experience entitled Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass. It is the museum's first Virtual Reality (VR) experience. Visitors have the opportunity to get to know the Mona Lisa, the most famous masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance genius, in a completely new way, and with the help of VIVEPORT, from anywhere in the world as part of a large exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's works.

Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass offers a completely new perspective on the famous da Vinci painting and gives the opportunity for a more personal encounter with the fine art in a virtual space. With the help of this innovative and interactive experience, the museum can offer users around the world access to the iconic Mona Lisa in a way never seen before.

Initially seven-minute immersive experience become an observer using the latest virtual reality player HTC VIVE Cosmos he finds himself in the room of the Louvre Museum, where the famous Mona Lisa lives. At first it is placed behind a crowd of visitors, in front of a painting in a museum gallery. When the crowd disperses, the observer moves to the immediate vicinity of the painting, which is no longer protected by the protective glass and frame. Now you can see for yourself vivid details this famous oil painting including the texture of the wood panel showing through the paint layer as well as the back of the panel where he can observe the crack in the wood and the way it was restored.

The virtual reality experience is unifying moving image, sound and interactive design, which gives the viewer an in-depth experience of da Vinci's world and discovers what photographing the iconic artwork can do with infrared light reveals about the model in the picture. On a journey through time, the observer gets an insight into the process of creation of a famous work of art and how it has changed over 500 years. The narrative part of the experience, however dispels many myths about the Mona Lisa herself in a way that reveals more details about her clothing and identity.

The extended native version is available for download on HTC's Unlimited VR subscription service, VIVEPORT Infinity, along with other online VR platforms, including mobile VR for iOS and Android. In addition to the content that can be viewed in the museum, it also offers users the opportunity to experience the experience of visiting the Louvre, when they enter through the iconic glass pyramid into the virtual space, they visit Grand Gallery and see da Vinci's entire collection of paintings in the famous Paris museum.

The exhibition will be on display everyday except Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays until 9:45 p.m. Additional appointments on Saturdays and Sundays until 21:45 (exhibition only).
