MWC 2025: Barcelona is already buzzing with mobile innovations and AI promises

What awaits us at the biggest mobile fair of the year?

Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC 2025) officially starts on March 3 and runs until March 6, but as has been the case for several years in a row, most of the important presentations fall a few days earlier. Xiaomi, HMD, and Honor have already scheduled their events for March 2, Nothing has unveiled the new Phone 3A, and Samsung and Google are remaining secretive for now.

This year's trend? AI everywhere. Phones are increasingly focused on artificial intelligence, which not only improves photos, but is already actively involved in content creation. Tech giants are competing to present the most “smart” device, but in practice this means that we will spend even more time in menus that suggest corrections that we did not ask for.

Barcelona & MWC 2025 will be full of innovations, AI marketing, and maybe even some real technological breakthroughs in the coming days.

What have we already seen before the official start of MWC 2025?

Nothing Phone 3A: minimalist design, maximum expectations

Nothing revealed Phone 3A, which remains true to the recognizable transparent design, but brings an improved display, a more powerful camera and more AI features. Although the brand has already built its circle of loyal users, the question remains whether it can truly compete with the bigger players with this model.

Xiaomi 15 series is coming to Europe

Xiaomi finally brings series 15 to the European market. Since the phones are already available in China, no major surprises are expected, but it will still be interesting to see if Xiaomi still holds onto its status as the brand that offers the most performance for its money.

Samsung Galaxy A56: more AI in the mid-range

Samsung's new series Galaxy A brings the Best Face feature, which allows you to replace facial expressions in photos. It is Samsung's answer to Google's Best Take, which shows that AI in image processing is becoming the standard, not just the privilege of the most expensive models.

What other unknown news could surprise you?

In addition to classic smartphones, MWC always features more experimental products. Last year we saw the Humane AI Pin, which quickly sank into oblivion, and a laptop with a transparent screen. What will stand out this year?

  • AI phones without a screen? Some startup will probably try again to prove that the future belongs to voice assistants that work without screens. But history shows that people still want to look at a screen.
  • Concept phones with rollable screens? Flexible displays have been around at MWC for years, but they're still few and far between in real life. Will something useful finally arrive this year?
  • More AI translators and smart glasses? Last year they promised simultaneous translations and real-time subtitles, but will anything actually work without lag this year?

What can we expect in the coming days?

The fair officially opens on March 3, but the action is already in full swing. Although MWC is no longer the venue for the big premieres of Samsung and Apple's flagships, it remains a key event for anyone wanting a glimpse into the future of mobile technology. The only question remains whether this future will be as revolutionary as it is being predicted.
