More than virtual reality (VR) has been mentioned lately augmented reality (AR). This is the possibility to observe, in addition to the real world, digital elements that are drawn before our eyes and placed in the environment. The technology is used to advantage by the writers of sci-fi movies and series, and currently the best approximation is Microsoft's glasses HoloLens. This may change with arrival Mojo Lens smart contact lenses, which will completely skip the glasses phase and display augmented reality directly on the eyeball.
My Vision has postponed CES 2020 a smart contact lens prototype with screen with a resolution of as much as 14,000 pixels/inch (ppi). Simple information will appear in front of our eyes, depending on what we want to see. Without looking at the phone, we will see which way the navigation is taking us, how good is the restaurant we are looking towards, or even what obstacles we have in front of us. The first people who are supposed to use these lenses are flat visually impaired individuals. Only later should they come into the hands of the rest of the consumers.
