The N59 surgical masks have been designed to work with Face ID as well, as they print your face on them to order.
Surgical masks are currently a "hit", not because some fashion designer put them on the catwalk or in the streets, but because they help protect against infection with the coronavirus and other viral diseases. And since such a face mask often makes it difficult to biometrically unlock your device, designer Danielle Baskin came up with "Face ID" mask N95, which is a great alternative. Those who want to have one will have to upload a photo of their face through a dedicated online application. This will then "make" the mask, which you must check by "digitally measuring". You can still fix any mistakes with this. The mask will then be printed without distortion.
The colors that will be used in printing should be non-toxic and should not affect our respiratory tract, which means that the mask will be able to be used for everyday life. Right now you can enter the queue (there is no exact release date of the mask yet). The price of such a mask should be approx 37 euros.
Baskin envisioned the mask as an alternative to more advanced facial recognition technologies currently being developed. She is one of those technology that is supposed to recognize a person's face even under an ordinary mask.
