These 5 new TV series must-sees this summer. Thriller, crime, romance or murder mystery – regardless of genre preference, every viewer will be able to find their new favorite hit. We present you with titles that will undoubtedly attract a lot of attention.

These 5 new TV series you need to watch this summer

Ballard

When: July 9
Where: Amazon Prime Video

The crime drama, based on the novel by Michael Connelly, brings to the small screen Detective Renée Ballard (the excellent Maggie Q), who leads a special police unit to solve the most challenging, bizarre and dusty cases. In addition to hunting down dangerous criminals, she also uncovers a dark conspiracy within the police ranks. The legendary retired detective Harry Bosch comes to her aid, which of course does not lack cynicism and the exchange of witty remarks. Fans of criminal intrigue and dark mysteries, get ready for an adrenaline-pumping experience!

Main roles: Maggie Q, Titus Welliver, Anika Noni Rose

Too Much

When: July 10
Where: Netflix

Lena Dunham, creator of the popular series Girls, is a romantic comedy series that (again) brings together New York and London – cities where people are clearly looking for love, but mostly find disasters. The story follows a cute 30-year-old woman (Megan Stalter) who, after a failed relationship, flees the Big Apple to London, where (of course!) she gets involved with musician Felix (Will Sharpe). The charm is soon replaced by chaos, confusion and love troubles. In supporting roles, we will be delighted by a real star cocktail of names, including Andrew Scott, Kit Harington, Emily Ratajkowski, Stephen Fry and even Jessica Alba. British humor and awkwardness are guaranteed! One of the more interesting TV series.

Main roles: Megan Stalter, Will Sharpe, Kit Harington, Andrew Scott

Dexter: Resurrection

When: July 11
Where: Paramount+

If you were a fan of the popular series Dexter, you're probably still holding out hope that our favorite serial killer will return (we all have our own weird preferences, right?). In the continuation of the series Dexter and Dexter: New Blood Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) wakes up from a coma and sets out on a dangerous search for his son Harrison. But he's met by Angel Batista (David Zayas), who's now on his heels. The series features a great cast, suspenseful plots, and perhaps even the answer to the question: "How many times can someone rise from the dead before it gets ridiculous?" Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, Neil Patrick Harris, and John Lithgow will appear in supporting and guest roles, among others.

Main roles: Michael C. Hall, Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman

Untamed

When: July 17
Where: Netflix

Who can resist a good murder mystery, especially one starring Eric Bana? (Rhetorical question.) This time, the Australian actor plays a Yosemite National Park employee who stumbles upon a body (a classic), which triggers a major investigation and the revelation of even greater secrets, intrigues, and complicated relationships. It seems that viewers will once again be able to compete in predicting the "culprit", which will undoubtedly brighten up summer evenings.

Main roles: Eric Bana, Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt

Washington Black

When: July 23
Where: Hulu

The historical drama, based on the excellent book of the same name by Esi Edugyan, tells the incredible story of an eleven-year-old boy from a Barbados plantation who, due to a combination of circumstances (read: tragedies) and exceptional talents, travels on a great adventure around the world. The series explores deeper themes such as family ties, freedom, the fight against prejudice and love. After the excellent reviews of the novel, we have high expectations that we will see a new masterpiece on the screens. One of the more interesting TV series this season.

Main roles: Sterling K. Brown, Ernest Kingsley Jr., Eddie Karanja

Seriously, July will be hot in front of the screens too. Obviously, we'll have to find a compromise between lying on the beach and enjoying serial marathons. What a dilemma!
