Audi has jumped into the premium electric SUV game at just the right moment when it matters most, introducing the “affordable” all-electric models of the Audi Q4 e-tron and Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback SUVs. The latter are positioned alongside the Škoda Enyaq and the Volkswagen ID. 4, of course from the same concern.
Audi has presented two electrified models, thus successfully continuing the electrification offensive of its car fleet. It's about completely electric models in a slightly more accessible price segment, starting at 41,000 euros respectively 2,000 euros more for a sexier version Sportback. This is the first time the premium segment offers an electrified vehicle in this price range. Here, Audi can also be described as the most constant among the holy trio of German car manufacturers from the premium brand segment, as it constantly sets standards and challenges for its competitors with the e-tron models and takes a serious stand with electricity.
Audi Q4 e-tron will be available with three powertrains. The top of the range will be represented by a model with 220 kW (299 hp). The best range on a single charge of the battery pack will be 520 kilometers according to the standard WLTP, which in real life is more than 400 kilometers. It will be possible to charge the batteries extremely quickly, as in 10 minutes can be charged for additional 130 kilometers reach.
The design is unmistakable Audi, and the study is reflected in it Q4 Concept from 2019, indicating the future style of Audi's vehicle range. It is interesting that despite the fact that it is SUVs, both cars achieve extremely good drag coefficients, which for the Sportback model is only cw 0.26. Of course, this is definitely appropriate for an electrified representative. And we have to admit that the Sportback itself looks extremely futuristic.
The most powerful version Q4 e-tron you will do 100 km/h driven in a pinch 6.2 seconds, and the final speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h. And this: it can be bought from June 2021.
