New details revealed about Samsung's foldables: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE are preparing to fold the competition like a paper airplane

This time we already know almost all the key specifications of their new foldable phones.

Of course, since we live in a time when “secret” means “release as much unofficial information as possible before the official event,” we already have practically the entire picture of the new Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and (for budget-conscious folding fans) Z Flip 7 FE models. This time, the revelation was made by the infamous Roland Quandt of WinFuture, who claims to have taken — oops, I meant “obtained” — official promotional materials from Samsung’s office. The official announcement is coming on Wednesday, July 9, at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which will apparently be more “galaxy” than “unpacked.”

Samsung's star among foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7, will this time shift into a higher gear when it comes to thinness. The device is said to be just 4.2 mm thick when unfolded, and 8.9 mm when folded. For those of you who are already forgetting the millimeter measurements of competing models: that means the same thickness as the Oppo Find N5 and barely 0.1 mm thicker than Honor's Magic V5. And Samsung weighs just 216 grams, which puts it on the throne of the lightest foldable phone in this class. Literally and figuratively light as a feather, but powerful enough to make your bank account noticeably slimmer again.

Despite its lightness, Samsung has found room for larger screens (6.5 inches outside, an impressive 8 inches inside), while the battery remains stubbornly the same as the Fold 6, with a capacity of 4,400 mAh. It will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and versions with 256 GB and 512 GB of memory will be available. In some markets, we can also expect a 1TB version, which will allow you to store about three million selfies that you will never look at again. Camera? 200 megapixels, so you can count the hairs on the head of a distant relative in the third row of a group photo. Colors: blue, black and silver. Because classic never goes out of style.

Flip 7: Bigger screen and more confidence

The little brother of the Flip 7 is not far behind. This time it brings a much larger external screen, measuring 4.1 inches. And what's better than a screen that elegantly embraces two cameras, just like the Motorola Razr? Apparently, Samsung is now a master of copying ... sorry, inspiration.

The Flip 7 will also be thinner than its predecessors, although it hides a larger battery with a capacity of 4,300 mAh. Which means you can finally forget about chargers for at least an extra hour. Storage and colors are identical to its bigger brother, and the main camera is more modest, but still a respectable 50 MP. You know, beauty wrinkles for Instagram need fewer megapixels.

Flip 7 FE: Because your budget loves foldable phones too

Quandt also provided some more information about the long-awaited “FE” version. The phone is said to be a bit more budget-friendly, with only 128GB and 256GB of storage and a slightly smaller battery (4,000mAh). However, it surprisingly retains the same screen size, which somewhat contradicts previous rumors that the FE would be a rehash of the Flip 6 design. Well, Samsung, make up your mind. Apparently, the FE phone will only come in black and white, which may be a subtle message that colors are for the more affluent.

And for dessert: the Galaxy Watch 8, which became a "squircle"

To add to the phone drama, we also got images of the new Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, which (like the Ultra model) opted for a shape that is somewhere between a square and a circle - let's affectionately call it a "squircle".

Quandt didn't reveal anything new about Samsung's mysterious foldable phone with three screens (trifold), which has been rumored online for a while now. Perhaps Samsung is keeping it a secret for now, because in a world where everyone knows everything before the official event, some things have to remain a secret. Unless the press department is leaking to you again...

Conclusion: Everything seems to indicate that Galaxy Unpacked on July 9 will only be a formality. The most eagerly awaited event is the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

But Samsung is clearly aware that these days, secrets last less time than the average iPhone's battery. However, one thing is clear - this year is going to be very flexible. And your bank account will be even more flexible.
