Fiat presented the updated Tipo model and added a completely new version of the Tipo Cross. This refresh in the middle of the car renewal cycle goes in the direction of refreshing the built-in technology and increasing safety.
Fiat Tipo was introduced in 2016, since then the Tipo family has been diligently growing. After the limousine version, the classic 5-door "hb" and station wagon were presented. This time he is joining Dude Cross. The reincarnation of the Tipo has become one of the most appreciated models in its segment in Italy and Europe, where it has more than 70 percent sales in markets outside of Italy greatly contributed to Fiat's financial performance. According to Fiat data, a total of 670.000 specimens. Even at the expense of some awards, such as the award for the least perishable vehicle in its segment, the Tipo is also a good buy. But unfortunately, not so successful among Slovenians.
This time it is a minor renovation, where connoisseurs will recognize the redesigned mask with the new Fiat logo. The front and rear headlights have also been renewed and are now fully LED. The shape of the bumpers on both 16- and 17-inch rims is also new. There are also changes in the interior, where a new one is available 7-inch digital infotainment screen, exactly as will be available in the new Fiat 500. It is possible to connect with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, even in wireless mode. The steering wheel has also been changed, which is more compact and more ergonomic. The designers have also worked on the dashboard, where certain buttons and details have been renewed.
Technological innovations include the most advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with innovations such as traffic sign recognition, lane control, focus assist, automatic high beam assist and blind spot sensors. There is also a “Keyless Entry” and a wireless charger for charging wireless phones, which is also capable of fast charging. With this, "Tipo" joins competitors with almost "mandatory" safety equipment.
Fiat Tipo Cross
It is a new version that belongs to the segment of so-called crossovers. The manufacturers of these tend to raise the chassis a bit, add "off-road" edges and optically bring the car closer to off-road vehicles. The engineers raised the guy by almost 7 centimeters. They managed to do this by calibrating the chassis and higher "tyres". You will also recognize the model by the "bumpers", which have off-road details.
New, more efficient and environmentally friendly engines
The engine line-up of the new Tipo has been completely refreshed, with a petrol or diesel engine available at launch. The new Tipo offers a new 1.0 GSE T3 petrol engine with 100 hp. The new three-cylinder engine achieves maximum torque 190 Nm at a mere 1,500 revolutions per minute, instead 4,500 rpm to the minute of the present 95 hp gasoline engine, which reached only 127 Nm of torque. Which is obvious progress. At the same time, the engine is much cleaner. For diesels, the well-known Multijet now meets Euro 6D Final and offers two power levels: 95 in 130 hp (previously 120 hp), with a significant improvement in performance and CO2 values, from 110 g/km for the diesel engine family (WLTP).
Prices
Exact prices for the Slovenian market are not yet known. It is Dude was considered the most affordable car in its segment, as buyers got the entry-level model for as little as 12,000 euros. With the renovation, of course, we expect prices that will be slightly more expensive at first.
