Google has revealed what the future will be like in the mobile world. On Tuesday, a few lucky people were already able to test the developer version of the Android O operating system. For now, we don't know what it will be officially called, but we can trust you with its best features. The new operating system is designed to extend battery life, allow users to multitask and better control notifications.
The best features of the new Android O operating system:
Extended battery life
To extend battery life on Android devices, Google blocks certain app tasks that run in the background and drain battery power. They will also limit some services running in the background as well as location updates when the app is not in use.
Limited notifications
Most people are overwhelmed by the number of notifications they receive on a daily basis. Google is thus introducing new ways of controlling the number of notifications and the way in which they are received. Users will be able to manage each application separately. In the news, for example, we will be able to select the areas that interest them and thus receive only these notifications.
Simple multitasking
Google has added a number of features to Android O that help the user multitask. The first is 'picture-in-picture', which allows the video to be played in a smaller format while the user is, for example, browsing the web, sending messages or making phone calls.

Better sound
Android O also brings better sound. Contributed by Sony, the technology allows more information to be transmitted over the same Bluetooth channel, resulting in better sound quality.
Other news
The new software also has other benefits, such as improved Wi-Fi connectivity and keyboard navigation. Among other things, Android O should enable animation and changing the shape of icons.
When will Android O be available?
It's not entirely clear when Android O will be available to the general public. More will certainly be known at their annual I/O conference, which will take place this year from May 17 to 19.
