New Renault Captur (2019): the French urban SUV that is growing up

Renault Captur is a bestseller and the best-selling "city" SUV. The second generation brings more space and "goodness" found in premium vehicles.

At the International Motor Show in Frankfurt - IAA Renault unveiled the revamped Renault Captur. He was the latter for the past seven years the best-selling car in its segment, but now completely renovated it offers even more. Renault really made an effort this time, because it goes right to Captur for its most important product. Of all cars, Capturs sell the most.

From the outside it is Capture extended by 11 cm and got some new premium extra options like 18-inch wheels, full LED lights (front and rear), 11 exterior colors and 4 contrasting roof colors (90 possible color schemes) and roof rails and a panoramic roof. Of course, the new generation also brings all assistance systems for the driver, as well as all safety accessories.


Captur interior is a major evolution of its predecessor. The dashboard is dominated by a large vertical screen, with buttons that control various functions just below it. The shifter area is raised for improved ergonomics, freeing up some storage space and the option of a wireless phone charger. Buyers, however, will be able to upgrade the sound system with the system Bare feet. The latter will also satisfy audiophiles.

The new Captur's trunk has just that 536 liters volume – and has grown tremendously and is thus among the leaders in the segment. In addition, additional ones can be found in various interior storage niches 27 liters space for storing small items. With this, it also became much more practical.

As far as it goes powertrains, will be new Capture available with 1.0 and 1.3 liter petrol engines and 1.5 liter diesel. Depending on the choice of engine, five- and six-speed manual transmissions and a seven-speed automatic transmission will be available.
