The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is one of the most ambitious phones in its class: a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED with 120 Hz and 3,200 nits, a quadruple IP certification (IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K), a 7,000 mAh with 90 W, the new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, and a triple camera with a 2.5x telephoto lens. It starts at 1,999 CNY = 240 euros in China; the global release is expected to bring minor changes.
Middle class has long meant “compromise”. Xiaomi Redmi The Note 15 Pro+ looks like Xiaomi took a list of requirements from extreme sports equipment and applied them to a phone: dust and water resistant even under hot, high-pressure jets, with a screen that's not afraid of the summer sun, and a battery that doesn't wake up in the morning with a leak. All this for money that you would sometimes barely pay for the "Lite" editions.
What it brings in practice: a quick “tour” of the specifications
Redmi Note 15 Pro+ features a 6.83-inch 1.5K (2772 × 1280) OLED with 120 Hz, HDR10+/Dolby Vision and up to 3,200 nits, dual-brightness calibration and DC + 3840 Hz PWM hybrid dimming. The display is slightly curved on all sides and protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass.
Under the hood it runs Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (SM7635‑AC) with Adreno 810 – octa-core (1× Cortex‑A720 up to 2.7 GHz, 3× A720 2.4 GHz, 4× A520 1.8 GHz), which officially debuted in this model. It should bring a ~7% jump in CPU/GPU compared to the 7s Gen 3; it's not a rocket, but it's efficient and fresh.
Photo? Triple: 50 MP Light Fusion 800 (OV50E) with OIS, 50 MP telephoto 2.5x and 8 MP ultrawide. On the front is a 32 MP camera. 4K video up to 30 fps, portraits at “60 mm” are finally more than just a digital trick.
The battery is massive 7,000mAh with 90W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging (also charges other devices). Compared to last year: Note 14 Pro+ hit 120W, with a much smaller cell – this year the philosophy is “less W, more Wh”.
Connectivity includes 5G (SA/NSA), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster, and GPS, and Xiaomi adds its own signal chip to the Pro+. Surge T1S (improves Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and GNSS). OS: Android 15 with HyperOS 2.
Housing and display: luminosity “after the sun”, waterproofness “after the car wash”
If acronyms put you in a good mood, write them down: IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69KXiaomi also highlights TÜV SÜD 5-star long-term water resistance rating and 2-meter “granite drop” test, 50 times in a row. Dragon Crystal Glass on the front, extremely durable composite (fiberglass) on the back. It’s not exactly stellarly thin, but 7.9mm and ~211g are surprisingly reasonable for 7,000mAh.
The display offers 12-bit color depth, HDR10+/Dolby Vision and 3,200 threads top – external display remains readable, hybrid DC + 3840 Hz PWM and aims for less flicker at lower brightness. Also worth mentioning is “Wet Touch 2.0” – screen operation with wet fingers.
Chip: 7s Gen 4 is a pragmatist, not a showman
Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is built on 4 nm, with Kryo/A720 cores and Adreno 810, and is being introduced commercially for the first time in this phone. The upgrade brings a modest jump of ~7 % in CPU/GPU compared to the 7s Gen 3 – enough for smooth use, but the focus is mainly on efficiency and AI support. Important: Note 15 Pro+ configurations remain at LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2; this is not bad, but it is not UFS 3.x class “flash”.
Camera: less “200 MP”, more useful glass
Xiaomi has broken away from the megapixel race this year and preferred to deliver mid-range telephoto. Main – 50 MP OV50E (1/1.55″) with OIS – relies on a robust sensor and processing, telephoto 2.5x (also 50 MP) covers “portrait 60 mm”, ultra-wide is 8MP. Front 32MPThis means in reality a better perspective for portraits and fewer digital tricks when zooming in.
In this price range, optical telephoto is still a rarity: Samsung Galaxy A‑series for example, it doesn't have one, realme 12 Pro+ is a nice exception with a 3x periscope. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ sits between both worlds here – it has a real telephoto, but remains affordable.
Battery and charging: a marathon, not a sprint
7,000mAh is a number that changes habits. Xiaomi combines a large cell with 90W and adds 22.5W reverse charging, which is convenient for headphones or another phone. Yes, last year's Note 14 Pro+ advertised 120W, but with a significantly smaller capacity; this year the game is about endurance, not the record in a minute to 100 %.
Connectivity and small joys
The set is solid: 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR transmitter and USB‑C. The speakers are symmetrical stereo with Dolby Atmos and Hi‑Res certification; Xiaomi even boasts “400 % volume". In Pro+ there is also Surge T1S signal chip (better reception, faster transmission), which is actually useful in crowded and poor signal conditions.
Satellite edition: when base stations go silent
Special version Satellite Messaging Edition supports bidirectional BeiDou satellite messages for emergencies and areas without network. Xiaomi also announces support sound and images as richer content (via OTA). For now, this is Chinese story, but the signal is clear: satcom is moving from "ultra flagships" to the mainstream.

Global release: possible differences
Early information from the firmware suggests that global Note 15 Pro+ could get something other settings – are mentioned 6,500mAh and 100W and potential camera changes (e.g. different main sensor). This is logical: last year's global series was mechanically different from the Chinese one. Only the official global presentation will be the final truth.
Verdict: Who is this phone for?
If you want a phone, which is durable, very long-lasting and practical (telephoto, IR, satcom variant) – with a well-balanced chip and an exceptional display – then the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is currently criterion It's not the fastest at charging and it doesn't chase records in benchmarks, but it wins where phones really live: screen, battery, resistance and usable cameraAt a time when many mid-range phones are still skimping on optical zoom, this Note has it. And it's more than just a number.
