Remember that old promise of an affordable Tesla electric car? Well, if you thought it was a dud, you're clearly wrong. The new Tesla Model Q, as the upcoming compact EV is said to be called, is back in the game - and this despite Elon Musk recently saying that a cheap car is "nonsensical". But if the latest reports from circles close to investors are to be believed, Tesla is still preparing for an extremely affordable electric car - with a base price of around 30,000 euros, which is more than 10,000 euros less than the currently cheapest Model 3.

Tesla has been promising an electric car for many years that would compete with conventional gasoline models. Then Elon Musk surprised with the announcement Cybercab robotaxi, a futuristic car without a steering wheel and pedals, which caused quite a bit of confusion – and a bit of panic – among the brand's followers. Musk then added that Tesla Model Q 2025 classic car for $25,000 makes no sense in the world of autonomous driving.

But it seems that the story doesn't end there. Fresh information from China suggests that Tesla discussed this very issue in a meeting with Deutsche Bank. Tesla Model Q 2025, which could hit the market as early as first half of 2025.

Model Q: Compact SUV instead of a classic hatchback

If you were expecting a smaller version of the Model 3 or something hatchback-style, Tesla is in for a surprise. The 2025 Tesla Model Q will be small electric SUV (segment B), approximately 4.20 meters long – therefore direct competition Volkswagen ID.2, Peugeot e-2008 and Renault Megane E-Tech.

Since Tesla has mastered aerodynamics almost as well as Musk has mastered Twitter (or X), we can expect low drag coefficient, which means greater range. The design features are said to be taken from the futuristic Cybercab, but adapted for everyday use - i.e. less radical lines, but still with that characteristic Tesla touch of the future.

The last part will be closer station wagons as classic sedans, which means a more spacious trunk – expected around 470 liters, which is quite impressive for a car of this size. This will be made possible by a clever cabin layout that will be moved slightly forward, which we have already seen in some Tesla models.

A price that could shake up the electric vehicle market

At a time when new electric cars are easily crossing the border 40,000 euros, Tesla is aiming for 30,000 euros, which could significantly shake up the power relations in the electric vehicle segment. If it succeeds, the Tesla Model Q 2025 could become a true “iPhone moment” for the EV industry – the moment when electric cars actually move into mass use.

Of course, the question is, Will Tesla actually keep this price?, as we've seen optimistic predictions repeatedly turn out to be higher numbers. But if it succeeds, the Model Q will become one of the most interesting EV options on the market.

What does the Tesla Model Q 2025 bring?

1. Revolutionary production and low costs

Tesla is said to use the same production strategy for the Tesla Model Q 2025 as for the Cybercab – modular system, where car parts are manufactured separately and then assembled into their final form. This approach could greatly reduced production costs and accelerated production, which is key to achieving a low price.

2. Range of around 480 km – among the best

According to initial information, the Model Q would offer a range of around 300 miles (about 480 km), which would put it alongside current competitors such as Renault Megane E-Tech, Volkswagen ID.3 and BYD Dolphin.

3. Battery and performance

There is talk about batteries with a capacity of around 50 kWh, which should provide an excellent range-to-cost ratio. The electric motor is expected to develop around 200 horsepower (147 kW), which means enough capacity for dynamic city and intercity driving.

4. Wireless electronics instead of traditional cables

One of the most interesting rumors is that Tesla is working on the Model Q may not use traditional cableLights, accessories, and other features should work. via wireless communication, similar to the Cybertruck. If true, the Model Q will be one of the first cars to be able to do away with miles of wiring, thereby reducing weight and manufacturing costs.

5. Autonomous driving and the Tesla Robotaxi network

Tesla still dreams of a fully autonomous future, so we can expect the Model Q to have advanced autonomous driving features. There is even a possibility that the Model Q could be integrated into Tesla Robotaxi network – which means that owners could use it as a “mini taxi” and thus reimbursed part of the purchase costs.

Will the Tesla Model Q 2025 really bring a revolution?

We've heard big promises about affordable electric cars before - but they never materialized. But Tesla has capital, experience and technologyto finally fulfill this promise.

If the Model Q really available for 30,000 euros, with excellent reach and innovative production solutions, this could mean a watershed moment for electric vehicles – and a big headache for the competition.

Of course, we must not forget that Tesla is… well, Tesla. If we have learned anything, it is that with Musk, you should always expect unexpectedlyWill the Model Q really be as affordable as the rumors say?

You should get an answer. already in June 2025, when Tesla is expected to reveal more details. Until then – let your imagination run wild!
