New Volkswagen Arteon (2017): sporty "gran turismo"

There are classic sedans and there are sports cars. The former offer a lot of space and a higher level of comfort, while the latter offer a sporty design and sporty driving dynamics. Volkswagen is now presenting a new model that combines both worlds and is called the Arteon. This sporty "gran turismo" boasts a striking design, spaciousness, a host of assistance systems, interactive connectivity and efficient and powerful engines. The Arteon is positioned above the Passat models and is not a direct replacement for the Passat CC model, as it is slightly larger than it in all dimensions.

Among the most important design elements of the new Volkswagen Arteon belongs to a completely new design front part. Its special feature is the hood of the engine compartment stretched far forward and across both fenders, and the radiator grille, which stretches across the entire width of the vehicle. After model of sports cars the powerful rear shoulder, muscular fenders and accentuated wheel arches above the rims in sizes up to 20 inches. Arteon delivers a lot of space for the legs in the rear part of the passenger cabin and a large volume of the trunk, which amounts to 563 to 1,557 liters.

They are also an important part of the design of the new Arteon assistance systems. This is clearly illustrated by three completely new technologies: automatic distance adjustment system from now on, among other things, it takes into account speed limits, bends, roundabouts and junctions and automatically adjusts the speed accordingly. New dynamic adaptive headlights with predictive control based on GPS data and road data from the navigation system, they monitor the course of the route and illuminate the bend even before the driver drives into it. An additional measure of safety in critical situations is provided by the second generation of the system Emergency Assist: if it happens that the driver is no longer able to drive due to a medical condition, the assistant automatically starts stopping the car. As far as possible, he also takes him to the weaning lane.

The new Volkswagen model will be available in three versions: Arteon, Elegance and R-Line. At the same time, even the basic version of Arteon has quite a nice range of equipment. Among other things, LED headlights, progressive steering, lane keeping assistance, a traffic control system with city emergency braking function, aluminum wheels and a multimedia system are available as standard. For those who want more, the Elegance and R-Line versions with completely different characters are intended. Thus Arteon Elegance has a distinct elegant overall design, and the Arteon R-Line bets on sportsmanship.
