The new Volkswagen Polo (2017): as big as the fourth generation Golf

Volkswagen Polo GTI

Well, we lived to see him. The new Volkswagen Polo represents the sixth generation of this urban legend, which has been around in its last version since 2009. During this time, the world has changed and the Polo has definitely grown up. The fact that you can get it with 200 horsepower and a GTI badge says it all. From the very beginning!

New Volkswagen Half you will immediately recognize it, because the engineers did not change the winning base, but only rewarded it and brought it into 2017. They brought it incredibly close golf and even blurred the line between them a bit too much. With a luggage compartment 351 liters namely, it offers just as much space as Volkswagen Golf 4 generations, with which they share a suspicious number of external measures. But let's leave that for now, let's focus on something new Volkswagen Polo.

Since it is placed on the MQB platform (shared with the Seat Ibiza), the Volkswagen Group naturally optimized the car's manufacturing processes and thus also the production costs. The platform mode, which in recent years has been typical for representatives of larger classes, also moves to the class of city cats and thus enables better quality and leaves less room for error.

Safety devices and driving assistants

As expected Volkswagen The Polo offers all driver assistants and already includes them in the basic versions emergency braking. An important safety element that we see as part of the standard equipment in more and more city cars. Smart is also available radar cruise control and other driver assistants. Most of them are carried over from the group solutions of their 'bigger brothers', such as the Volkswagen Golf, Passat...

An irreplaceable design

You definitely won't miss Pol and you'll basically recognize him immediately. It is 7 centimeters longer it takes all the features from and from its predecessor and builds on them accordingly. Following the example of the design guidelines that Volkswagen has recently applied to all its models, the side silhouette features a distinctive neck line, which optically stretches the car and makes its silhouette lower than it actually is. The rear is decorated with lights similar to the predecessor (equipped with LED technology), with a strong and recognizable signature. Which is also emphasized in the front lights, which have a characteristic line that already suggests the appearance of Volkswagen headlights in the models coming in the following years.

Motorization

At the beginning, it will be available as 9 engines, all of which comply with the Euro 6 standard. Gasoline engines with a power spectrum from 65 hp to 200 hp and two diesel engines with 80 hp and 95 hp. The 200 hp one will be located in the nose of the badged Polo GTI.

Polo can now be personalized

14 exterior colors, 12 different models of rims, 13 different types of dashboard decoration and 11 different types of seat covers are a guarantee that you will be able to equip your Polo extremely individually. If we add to this a selection of different aggregates and a lot of additional equipment, we arrive at the number of combinations where your Volkswagen Polo will be almost unique. Polo enters the world of personalization rather late. But as the saying goes, "It's better late than never!"

The sound system will also ensure that polo is more fun and closer to the active population as well as to retirees Beats by Dr. Dre, which will offer a 300-watt music listening experience.

In all probability, he will drive all the way to the roads in 2017.
