The eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf is revealed and as befits one of the most iconic cars in the world brings a bunch of technological innovations in its segment - while maintaining extremely recognizable silhouette. The latter is somehow more aerodynamic than its predecessors, and thus the new Golf boasts a drag coefficient of only 0,275. He grew three centimeters in length, but all other measurements remained practically unchanged. A bold revolution took place inside. The Golf is equipped as standard with 10.25 bar digital gauges, which are accompanied by another 10 inch screen for the information system. Visually, the new Golf is definitely not a revolution. It is very recognizable. From the seventh generation, there is little difference. But this is what makes the Golf so great. For decades, he has been able to approach the general beauty trends of the industry and remain beautiful for a long time - but at the same time unnoticed. 
The new Golf will be hybrid motorized
They offer golf with five hybrid powertrains. Three of them use 48-volt mild hybrid systems and produce 109 horsepower (81 kW), 129 hp (96 kW) and 148 hp (110 kW). There are also two plug-in hybrids with 13 kilowatt batteries, offering 201 hp (150 kW) and 241 hp (180 kW). And these are the real hybrids that most people will reach for.
They are still available always conventional engines, so among the "petrol" we find - a 1.0-liter turbo three-cylinder gasoline engine with a power of 89 HP (66 kW) and 109 HP (81 kW) and two versions of a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder with 114 HP (85 kW) ) and 148 hp (110 kW). A diesel will still be available, namely a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in 114 hp (85 kW) and 148 hp (110 kW) versions.
Technology at a new level
New Golf will be able to be equipped with a new driver assistance system Travel Assist. The latter will manage autonomously with steering, braking and acceleration on highways up to a speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
New Golf maybe it's not the best visually revolutionary. Many people might maliciously remark that not much has changed. But it is always the case with the Golf that it never shocks at the beginning of the model journey.
