Many believe that the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite 4% will cement itself as the number one marathon shoe. But it turned out that its upper part, in the manufacture of which Flyknit technology was used, retains water in it. For this reason, Nike decided to create the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite Flyprint.
Nike has included a very special innovation in the new sneaker - Flyprint. The high-tech material is the result of a special method 3D printing, called "solid deposit modelling". The latter enables the production of material with different densities in individual places.
With computer design, the shoe is possible in the desire for greater comfort and better stability adapt to individual athletes. The upper part of the footwear is permeable, so it does not retain water. Having said that, Flyprint is for 6 % lighter from its Flyknit predecessor.
It will soon be clear whether the new shoe model is really as effective as Nike is trying to present it. Eluid Kipchoge, the Kenyan long-distance runner who holds the title of the most successful marathoner of the last decade, will Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite Flyprint tested at the London Marathon, which will be held on April 22.
A limited supply of the new sneakers will be available on the Nike app this coming weekend. Their price is not yet known.
