Last year, Nikon introduced its first full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Z6 and Z7, to which it now adds the Nikon Z5 with a 24-megapixel sensor and a lower price.
Compared to the Nikon Z6, it is Z5 lost some features, but we're still talking about a very decent camera! There's no status screen, more plastic was used in the build, the sensor isn't backlit, and it's also not ideal for 4K footage due to the 1.7x crop, but there are still elements here when 3.69 MP OLED viewfinder, 3.2-inch touchscreen, Expeed 6 processor and so on stabilization of the image in the body.
The Z5 even corrects one of the biggest shortcomings of the Z6 and Z7 models - only one card slot in the unusual XQD format. Buying a new card is not cheap, and only one slot is not enough for many field photographers. That's why the Z5 has it two slots for UHS-II SD cards.
Nikon also announced a new lens for the Z series, which is the smallest full-frame lens to date! It is a 24-50mm f/4-6.3 zoom, which measures just over 7 centimeters when folded. This makes it compact, versatile and ideally suited for smaller Z-series cases.
The Nikon Z5 will be available at the end of August at 1,899 euros (together with the 24-50mm f/4-6.3 zoom lens).
