The Audi RS 3 has been setting new standards in the compact sports car segment since its inception. But with the latest upgrade, Audi seems to continue to play with its own limits – this time creating a machine that not only looks more aggressive, but also tears around the Nürburgring corners faster than ever before.

The Audi RS 3 is a feast for the eyes at first glance. The new, wider and lower front end with a distinctive hexagonal Singleframe frame and diamond-shaped grille screams speed. The side air vents and three slits above the front spoiler are borrowed right from the Audi Sport quattro S1, the legendary Pikes Peak racer from 1987. If that's not enough, for a more personal touch, exclusive RS colors such as Kyalami Green are also available and Daytona Gray in matte finish.

The rear of the car has also seen its share of changes. With larger tailpipes integrated into the RS diffuser and dynamically illuminated arrows on the taillights, the RS 3 leaves an impression even when viewed from behind. If desired, the car can be equipped with carbon and high-gloss black packages, which further emphasize its sporty nature.

Interior: Dark, sharp and sporty

When you enter the interior of the RS 3, you find yourself in a dark but elegant cockpit dominated by premium materials and selected details. The new sports steering wheel, which is flattened at the top and bottom, together with the optional RS bucket seats, immediately evokes the feeling that you are behind the wheel of a real racing car.

The Audi virtual cockpit plus digital panel, now equipped with new RS displays, including a “Runway” mode that puts engine revs at the fore, and a new central rpm display, gives you a complete overview of the vehicle's performance. Also new is the application store, which enables the direct use of numerous applications on the vehicle without connection to a smartphone.

Engine: Five cylinders of pure pleasure

Under the hood is a 2.5-liter TFSI engine that produces 294 kW (400 hp) and 500 Nm of torque. This beast launches you from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.8 seconds, while the top speed is 290 km/h. The distinctive sound of the five-cylinder engine, which with its 1-2-4-5-3 sequence of ignitions, provides an irreplaceable sound pleasure.

Audi has also provided an enhanced audio experience with an optimized exhaust flap control unit that provides a fuller sound over a wider rev range. Of course, for those who want even more, an optional RS sports exhaust system is available, which further elevates the sound experience.

Driving dynamics: New standards for cornering

The RS 3 is a fast car even in straight lines, but the real magic happens in the corners. Audi Sport has managed to find the perfect balance between power and control, which is best demonstrated by the fact that the new RS 3 set a new record for compact cars at the Nürburgring with a remarkable time of 7:33.123 minutes.

This impressive performance is provided by a whole range of technological improvements, including an upgraded driving dynamics management algorithm that now reacts even more precisely to every situation on the road. The new RS 3 is characterized by increased cornering stability and reduced understeer, which enables higher cornering speeds and faster exits.

Conclusion: More than just an upgrade

The Audi RS 3 is more than just another powerful compact car. It is a combination of power, style and technology that sets new standards in its class. With all the improvements, the RS 3 is now even more attractive, both for speed enthusiasts and those looking for the perfect marriage of everyday utility and racing performance. Although prices in Germany start at €66,000 for the Sportback and €68,000 for the sedan, the RS 3 offers a priceless experience that will be hard to beat.
