In mid-March, the film Nymphomaniac, the new debut of the controversial Danish director Lars von Trier, caused quite a stir among the public. This time we are promised another part, which takes us into the continuation of the violent and poetic story about the erotic journey of a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac from birth to the age of 50, told by the main character Joe (played by Charlotte Gainsbourg).
Director of the controversial films Melancholy, Antichrist and Dogville, Lars von Trier, presents the exciting story of self-proclaimed nymphomaniac Joe, who one evening finds her all beaten charming Seligman. He accompanies her to his home and attends to her wounds, while learning her life story. An erotic narrative takes us to her youth, full of sexual experimentation, seduction and love adventures. A chaotic vortex of the uncontrollable Joe's erotic needs forces her to increasingly risky and unreasonable behavior, which gradually blurs her emotional awareness and rational thinking.
In the second part Joe continues with his sexual addiction, which steers her toward the darker side of life and eventually leads her to land in Seligman's foster care.
First part Nymphomaniacs were also shown at this year's event Berlinale. There is a film in which they starred Charlotte Gainsbourg, Uma Thurman, Stellan Skarsgard, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell and Shia LaBeouf, described as a wild and poetic story about the experiences of a woman from her birth to the age of fifty.
