The travel portal TripAdvisor once again invited its users to choose the most beautiful island in the world. Are you interested in how they decided?
As ordered is a travel website TripAdviser announced the most beautiful islands in the world for 2015. Winter has finally packed its bags, and spring has flirted more seriously with summer temperatures a few times, which means only one thing. Time to decide where to go this summer to vacation. Although some destinations will seem like too much for your budget, they are at least among the 10 most beautiful islands two that are not only relatively close, but also relatively cheap. You can still dream about the others. I know no one can take that away.

10. Fernando de Noronha
A diver's paradise, the Brazilian archipelago of Fernando de Noronha is under UNESCO protection. It is famous for its extremely sensitive ecosystem, which is why it has quantitatively limited and controlled access to visitors. Warm sea, kitsch beaches, turtles, dolphins and peace. Could we ask for anything more?
9. Bora Bora
Natural beauty is no stranger to the island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia, where celebrities and those with deep pockets like to go. Crystal clear sea, "shack houses", tropical fish and luxury in abundance. There is really no objection to Bora Bora's ranking.
8. Mauritius
Unlike the aforementioned two, Mauritius offers a bit more hustle and bustle, as the capital, Port Louis, is a bustling port. But the city beat is only one shade of this tropical paradise, as there are also many corners on the island where you are surrounded only by unspoiled nature and "movie" beaches. It's lively there only below sea level.
7. Bali
Bali is a mix of everything. Indeed, the Indonesian island offers sandy beaches where you can indulge in lounging and lazing around, but it is also a paradise for parties, for yoga lovers, for those looking for inner peace, and adventurers also come at their own expense in the tropical forests and among the many ancient temples.
6. Madeira
Portuguese Madeira, where many Slovenians have already traveled, is a hilly and green island in the Atlantic Ocean, which is also called the island of eternal spring and excess. Liveliness is brought to it by the "restless" capital Funchal, where there is always something going on, and the name Madeira, in addition to its natural beauty, also boasts a famous sweet wine that bears its name after the island.
5. When the Tao
Due to its distance from the mainland, Ko Tao is one of the less populated Thai islands. It takes its name from the sea turtles that visitors share the island with. Those of you who miss the sun will come to your advantage here, as they have it 300 days a year. All 365 days there are white sandy beaches and warm tropical sea.
4. Santorini
In addition to Madeira on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world, we also find Santorini, which is the first thing that comes to mind when the Greek islands are mentioned. Dazzling white houses, which provide a contrast to the volcanic rocks, are embraced by the dark blue sea, which "licks" the black and not white beaches. If we add to this the many testimonies that it has the most beautiful sunset in the world, then the dilemma of where to go on vacation this year is gone.
3. Roatan
Adventurers and ecotourists beware. The island of Roatan, located about 50 kilometers off the coast of Honduras, was created for you. Spearfishing, adrenaline-pumping zip lining and unspoiled nature, including a magnificent coral reef (which is part of the second largest coral reef in the world). But for explorers, the rocky and mountainous interior is perfect.
2. Maui
For those of you who love wind-powered water sports (surfing, sailing, kitesurfing), Maui, which is considered the second largest Hawaiian island, is perfect for you. The attraction in itself is the breathtaking coastal road (north-eastern part of the island), as well as the fantastic waterfalls and bicycle paths on solidified lava.
1. Providenciales
The Turks and Caicos Islands are a little-known Caribbean archipelago that has subscribed to the title of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The island of Providenciales (located east of Cuba) also has such a reputation, which years ago already licked the cream of the beaches with its Grace Bay Beach. Providenciales is considered the center of tourism in the country and is also the most populated. It earned the title of the most beautiful island in the world because of the coral reefs that are within reach, the snow-white beaches and the luxury tourist offer. In addition, it is located close to the whale migration route, where you can see them for a lifetime.
