The Slovenian bureau Ofis arhitekti recently completed the construction of a new football stadium in the Belarusian city of Borisov. The building sinks into the surrounding forest and is wrapped in an interesting metal facade of organic shapes.
In the Slovenian office Office architects, which they lead Rok Oman and Špela Videčnik, can boast of recently completed construction football stadium in the Belarusian city of Borisov. The opening marked an important city anniversary, and the stadium was to become a visual symbol of the city. During the design, the architects tried to adapt to the surrounding landscape and interfere with it as little as possible, while at the same time they managed to meet the needs of 13,000 seats, massive public areas and numerous parking lots required by UEFA. The surroundings of the building are arranged in a pleasant promenade, and the parking lots are located in the surrounding forest.
The arena, hidden in the surrounding greenery, is surrounded by an interesting rounded facade that acts as a delicate perforated membrane. It consists of a metal casing in which rounded windows are placed. Due to its organic shape, the stadium seems much smaller than it actually is. In the covered area between the screen and the stands, there are shops, bars, service areas, changing rooms and toilets on the ground floor, and offices and rooms for journalists and special guests on the upper floor. The roundness of the arena ensures optimal acoustics of the room and provides an excellent atmosphere during matches and other events.
