OnePlus has officially announced the Nord smartphone, its first serious attempt at the mid-range since the ill-fated OnePlus X from 2015. And despite starting at €419, the phone shares a lot of its DNA with not too long ago released OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, which are considered to be this year's flagships of the brand.
OnePlus Nord you still have 1080p OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz, network support 5G, fast wireless charging with the help of Warp Charge 30 Wireless technology and the same sensor with 48 MP on the main camera. Of course, this does not mean that they were not forced to accept some compromises in order to achieve a lower price, among which the processor certainly stands out, since the Nord model, unlike the flagships, runs a slower Snapdragon 765G. There are also compromises slightly smaller screen (6.44 inches) without curvature.
The main cameras on the back of the Nord keep company macro camera with 2 MP, depth sensor with 5 MP and so on wide-angle camera with 8 MP, where they made the following compromise, since the latter has half the resolution compared to the 8 series. Technically, the Nord has even one more camera than the OnePlus 8 model (it does not have a depth sensor), but the most important thing is that it has the camera that we will actually use it for photography, the exact same 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor. With the front camera series, Nord sets new standards, as here you will find as many as two cameras, including wide-angle camera with 8 MP with a 105-degree field of view, as well as “traditional” selfie camera with 32 MP.
All this is supplemented by a battery with 4,115 mAh, which is just a hair short of the 4,300 mAH batteries in the 8 series.
Nord will be available in blue and gray color with 8 GB or 12 GB of working memory and with 128 GB or 256 GB of internal memory. It will be available in Europe from August 4.
