PancakeBot is the first real pancake "printer". The smart pancake batter sprayer makes 3D prints of sketches and bakes pancakes in shapes we usually only dream of. The result is delicious art that is currently fighting for existence on Kickstarter.
3D food printing remains a novelty, but various individuals and companies are experimenting with robotically prepared foods. Miguel Valenzuela with the project PancakeBot is raising funds on Kickstarter and hopes to have a refined version on the market by mid-2015. The PancakeBot uses a combination of compressed air and vacuum to control the descent of batter onto the pan.
PancakeBot includes software for both this Mac and Windows and allows users to download the desired pancake shapes via SD card and then mark the lines again in the order in which they want to "print" or bake them - the lines marked first will be on the baking sheet for a longer time and will be darker.
