Peugeot offered family-oriented buyers of the C-segment a station wagon version of the 308 - SW model, which offers a 660- to 1,775-liter trunk and a spacious passenger cabin. The range of engines has been refreshed with a new 1.2-liter e-THP, prices start at 14,690 euros for the petrol, or 14,990 euros for the diesel.
Barely a year after the arrival of the new generation of the Peugeot 308, the station wagon, SW – version of this model has now arrived on the market. Design-wise, the front and the B-pillar completely match the hatchback version, followed by a coherent and above-average sporty design. The extra centimeters (there are 33 of them) go almost entirely to the account increasing the trunk, which is grown to 660, and with collapsed seats on 1,775 liters of usable space.
The SW also got the benefit of greater spaciousness, especially in the second row of seats 11 centimeters longer wheelbase, which allows modular platform – EMP2, which also brings significant savings in vehicle weight.
The interior tells the same story as the exterior, where there is now more room for the knees and heads of passengers in the second row. Thanks to the interior larger cielo panoramic roof (the area increased from 1.44 to 1.69 m2), now also brighter and airier.
There are three equipment packages: access, active and allure, and the novelty is the sport package, which can be combined with the allure package, but only with the new model 1.2 liter e-THP engine. For now, this also represents the entry-level unit on the gasoline side, and with 96 kilowatts of horsepower, it promises a solid amount of dynamism. There are a total of five engines on the gasoline side, with a power range from 80 to 147 kW, and on the diesel side there are aggregates or as many as six versions, namely with power from 67 to 132 kW. There are two gearboxes, basically a six-speed manual, for an extra charge, an automatic with the same number of ratios.
The entry price on the gasoline side is 14,690 euros with all discounts, and the surcharge for diesel in the nose is only 300 euros. Otherwise, the surcharge for the station wagon version is from 700 to 900 euros.
