Polestar has proven once again that electric cars are not just for city streets and highways. With the new Polestar Arctic Circle series, directly inspired by rallying and Scandinavian motorsport, the Polestar 2, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 models are ready for the most extreme weather conditions. They will be premiered on February 1, 2025 at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, one of the most spectacular winter motoring events.
Although A half-year-old is no stranger to the field of powerful electric vehicles, it is Polestar Arctic Circle a unique collection that draws inspiration from rally racing on ice and snow. Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, emphasizes that this collection embodies Polestar's racing DNA:
“We develop our vehicles in the harsh conditions of the Swedish Arctic Circle. This proves that Polestar is ready for anything – even the extreme challenges of ice and snow.”
The development of the Polestar Arctic Circle models is credited to Joakim Rydholm, Polestar's driving dynamics master and Swedish rally veteran. 30 years of motorsport experience has invested in making the vehicles not only powerful, but also fun to drive – even on ice.
What does Polestar Arctic Circle bring?
1. Higher ground clearance and rally suspension
Arctic Circle vehicles are equipped with a higher chassis:
- Polestar 2: +30mm
- Polestar 3: +40mm
- Polestar 4: +20mm
They ensure perfect stability on snowy roads 3-way adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers and Pirelli winter tires – some models even have studs for better grip.
2. Legendary rally bikes and accessories
Polestar has chosen proven OZ Racing rims, which are synonymous with rally endurance. Add to that Recaro sports bucket seats and aggressive Stedi Quad Evo LED spotlights, and you will get a real rally experience.
3. Prepare for winter adventures
In addition to performance, Arctic Circle also brings practicality. All models have customized Thule roof racks, which allow the transport of skis, snowboards and other winter equipment. Swedish gold tow hooks and add a touch of Scandinavian style.
