Pour your computer? If you react quickly and follow a few basic rules, there is a good chance that your laptop or keyboard will be carried away without major consequences.
Have you spilled liquid on your laptop or keyboard? Looking for a solution for yours clean the computer? To start unplug the laptop immediately. If liquid penetrates the keyboard and reaches the inside of the laptop, it can cause a short circuit and damage the components. When you turn off the computer, we recommend that you use the shutdown button, which you hold for a little longer, so that the computer turns off immediately! If possible, remove the battery or be sure to disconnect the computer from the power source.
Once you have taken care of the laptop is no longer on, turn the computer so that the liquid flows out of it and wipe it with kitchen cloths or a towel. Many advise you to use manual kitchen vacuum cleaner, to remove as much liquid as possible between the keys in the first moment. Do not use cleaners and do not apply additional moisture! Certain cleaners may contain chemicals that seriously damage the circuit!
The next step is drying of internal components. If you can safely and easily remove outer cover, do so and dry everything inside. Do not use hair dryer, because it will generate static electricity and you can absolutely do more harm than good with it.
Then remove the keys and clean everything underneath - if you can (it all depends on the type of laptop). If you cannot remove the keys (do not use force), leave the laptop as it is and it turn upside down.
Find it safe place, where you can set up the laptop so that it is open and the keys are facing down. Try to set it up without damaging the screen or you will have to repair the keyboard, components and screen. Just in case, leave the computer in this position at least 24 hours, even better 36 hours.
After drying the laptop, you may have problems with sticky keys. Take plain wet wipes, clean and you shouldn't have any more problems.
