Porsche has prepared something very special for the Netherlands: the unique Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit “De Tulp”, affectionately called De Tulp. Pastel orange, tulips on the bodywork and even faster times on the Nürburgring. Yes, the Germans have gone all Dutch for now.

When Porsche does something, it doesn't do it by halves. And when Porsche Nederland says it wants a "car for the Netherlands," the result is not a Golf with a windmill-shaped roof antenna, but a brutal machine - Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit “De Tulp”. They affectionately call it The Tulip, because it's dressed in Pastel Orange, the national color of racing Holland, which hits you in the eye like freshly squeezed carrot juice.

But under the hood (which is made of carbon fiber, by the way) there is nothing orange. That's where the heart beats – 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder with 386 kW (500 hp), who screams to the red box like Verstappen on the team radio.

Manthey Kit: why be fast when you can be too fast

Manthey Racing approached things as they always do: “How can we make an already insanely good car even more insanely fast?” The result: aerodynamic additions, three carbon louvers on the fenders (instead of two), new setting huge rear wing, which at 200 km/h generates as much 169 kg thrust – almost twice as much as the standard GT4 RS.

At the Nürburgring, “De Tulp” officially recorded 7:03,121. That's six seconds faster than the production GT4 RS. In the world of sports cars, six seconds is an eternal distance – there, winners and losers are separated faster than Heineken and Amstel fans.

Design: tulip in black racing boots

Pastel orange bodywork, black magnesium wheels with carbon aero discs and tulips discreetly planted all over the car. But discreetly in the Porsche sense – which means that every other car enthusiast will see them from orbit.

Inside? Combination of black leather and Race-Tex, contrasting orange stitching and tulips on the seat backs. So you don't forget that you're sitting in a car that is both a racing car and an ambassador for Dutch horticulture. Even the keys are personalized. If that's not an obsession with detail, then I don't know what is.

A special watch deserves special accessories

Porsche Design also created Chronograph 718 Cayman GT4 RS De Tulp. Titanium case, orange details and a rotor shaped like a car rim. If you can't ride a tulip on four wheels, you can wear it on your wrist.

And this: in a limited edition 718 pieces There's a thermos available in the same color as the car. Yes, Porsche made a thermos. And yes, they'll probably sell out.

Conclusion: Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit “De Tulp”

The Tulip is proof that Porsche still knows how to play. That a car can be not only technically perfect, but also a national symbol, a work of art and a call to racing madness. But it is to be expected that this orange beauty will never be in a regular showroom. It is about unique order, Factory CommissioningIf you want something similar, you'll have to visit Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and prepare for a really long wish list - and an even longer bill.
